Battle of Palo Duro Canyon

U.S. cavalry under Colonel Ranald Mackenzie attacked encampments of Comanche, Kiowa, and Cheyenne families in Palo Duro Canyon and destroyed critical horses and supplies. The attack was a major turning point in the Red River War.
